Festival Tragaluz is a photography and image festival and laboratory based in Michoacán, Mexico, with a national reach. Throughout the year, we develop exhibitions, workshops, residencies, educational activities and collaborative projects that bring together artists, photographers, creators, students and diverse audiences. Our program promotes artistic creation, critical thinking and meaningful connections between communities through photography and visual storytelling. We provide opportunities for emerging and established artists to present their work, exchange knowledge and connect with new audiences. Our vision is to make the city a gallery and photography a tool for building community, generating dialogue and expanding perspectives. Festival Tragaluz serves a diverse community of artists, photographers, visual creators, students and audiences interested in photography and the visual arts. Direct beneficiaries include: Emerging and established photographers and visual artists seeking opportunities to exhibit, learn and connect with peers and audiences. Students and aspiring creators who participate in workshops, master classes and educational activities. Artists and cultural professionals who benefit from networking and collaborative opportunities. Indirect beneficiaries include: Audiences and communities in Michoacán and beyond who experience exhibitions, public conversations, educational activities and multidisciplinary projects. In 2025, more than 2,000 people attended festival activities and more than 4,000 monthly visitors engaged with its exhibitions.
