Mission Zero Hunger Panama: Join us to change lives

We rescue food and distribute it to vulnerable communities.

Our Mission

To mitigate hunger in Panama by providing professional, honest, and transparent food assistance to the country's most vulnerable populations. We achieve this by rescuing, inspecting, and sorting consumable, non-marketable food that would otherwise be discarded.

The Food Bank of Panama is a non-profit organization that has been working since 2014 to combat hunger and reduce food waste in the country. We rescue food in good condition donated by companies, businesses, and strategic partners, carefully classify it, and distribute it to social organizations that serve people and communities in situations of food vulnerability. Our work not only guarantees access to safe and nutritious food but also promotes a supportive, sustainable, and efficient model that protects the environment and strengthens the social fabric. Each donation is transformed into hope, nutrition, and opportunities for thousands of people throughout Panama. With your support, we are moving towards Mission Zero Hunger Panama and a more just future for all.

Our Impact

Our Impact in Numbers: For over 10 years, we've been fighting hunger in Panama with unwavering solidarity. * Over 20 million kilograms of food rescued and recovered from businesses for safe consumption. * More than 450,000 people across the country have benefited, thanks to our dedicated support network. * We partner with over 500 social organizations, enabling us to reach vulnerable communities. * We generate a positive environmental impact by preventing CO₂ emissions and conserving millions of liters of water through reduced food waste. 📍 2024 Expansion: This year, we opened a new branch in Divisa, strengthening food rescue efforts in the country's central region, expanding our territorial reach, and promoting a more sustainable model closer to the communities.

Who We Help

The Food Bank of Panama serves girls, boys, adolescents, adults, women, men, and senior citizens of all ages who are in a situation of food vulnerability nationwide. Our direct beneficiaries are individuals and families facing food insecurity, including low-income communities, rural populations, senior citizens, at-risk children, female heads of household, and other groups in situations of social and economic vulnerability. Indirect beneficiaries include entire communities, social organizations, community kitchens, educational centers, shelters, and care homes, which strengthen their response capacity thanks to continuous access to food. Through a network of more than 500 allied social organizations, the Food Bank of Panama reaches approximately more than 50,000 people throughout the country each year, contributing to improving their food security, well-being, and quality of life.
