We provide health and education services on sexual and reproductive rights for girls, teens and women in the State of Michoacán, México.
Through community education, dignified and qualified healthcare, and formal training based on the model of Professional Midwifery, we promote respect for sexual and reproductive health and rights for women and adolescents by strengthening their autonomous decision-making process and self-care in relation to their bodies, sexuality and reproduction.
The impact of Mujeres Aliadas is profound and lasting. In more than 16 years we have: - Reached 45,966 women through community workshops - Provided 13,571 professional midwifery consultations - Trained more than 13,162 children and adolescents in sexual and reproductive rights - Accompanied more than 300 births with respect and care This work not only provides clinical care and education, but also empowers, breaks cycles of violence and opens doors to a more equitable future. "After six months of continuous bleeding due to fibroids and undergoing treatment with a gynecologist who insisted that removing my uterus was the only solution, I was fortunate to find Mujeres Aliadas, a beautiful and peaceful place where I was treated with love and respect. Midwife Elena provided me with a treatment that controlled the bleeding within just one week. After three months of care with the midwives at Mujeres Aliadas, my gynecologist confirmed that the fibroids had significantly reduced in size, and I was able to keep my uterus. Now, I have brought my teenage daughter to a comprehensive sexual education workshop because I firmly believe in the professional and dedicated work of Mujeres Aliadas.
