We offer free, high-quality music education for all ages—cultivating talent, fostering community, and inspiring personal and social growth through the power of collective music-making.
TALENTO is a private, non-profit, apolitical, and humanitarian organization that promotes Guatemalan artistic talent through free education in music, performing, and visual arts. We unite citizens and institutions to develop innovative training programs, cultural projects, and performances that foster creativity, discipline, and social transformation—building a more vibrant and compassionate Guatemala through the arts.

Our free programs, encompassing youth and children's orchestras and choirs, develop artistic skills and essential life skills, emphasizing character, citizenship, and values like respect, discipline, and teamwork. We foster positive communities, promote coexistence and empathy, and cultivate musical excellence through challenging repertoire and performances. Our Concerts with Purpose connect Guatemalans with the transformative power of the arts, creating a cultural agenda that uplifts and inspires. Our impact on the community includes: • +564 direct beneficiaries annually in tuition-free artistic programs • Over 6,000 people indirectly reached through concerts, workshops, and community activities • More than 60 activities per year, including concerts, masterclasses, educational tours, and workshops • Production of international-level concerts featuring high-performance repertoire • Implementation of early childhood music and music therapy programs in health centers and schools • Young artists representing Guatemala on national and international stages • Development of values and life skills such as empathy, teamwork, discipline, and leadership • Our 'Concerts with Purpose' help fund our scholarships, produce activities and expand access to more communities.
At TALENTO, we serve: Guatemalan children, youth, and adults aged 3 and up, from both the capital city and rural areas, with an affinity for the arts, a need for a positive form of expression, or extraordinary talents seeking access to quality artistic education. Many of them come from vulnerable or challenging life circumstances and find in music a safe space for growth, development, and transformation. Our beneficiaries include: • Preschool-aged children in early childhood music stimulation programs • Children and youth (ages 6–25) in choral, orchestral, school-based, and children’s music programs • Young adults aiming to professionalize as artists or enter the music industry • Adults who benefit from the emotional, mental health, and community-building aspects of music • Patients and healthcare workers benefiting from music therapy sessions • School communities and the general public reached through our educational tours and concerts All of our programs are completely tuition-free. We serve approximately 564 direct beneficiaries annually, and impact over 6,000 people indirectly through our outreach efforts.

"My journey with Talento/Querido Arte began in 2016 with the production of the opera Rigoletto, where I performed as part of the tenor section. Since then, I have participated in all of the company’s operatic productions, as well as in a variety of complementary events: sacred concerts, Christmas presentations, flashmobs, opera galas, and more. In 2022, I assumed choral direction for major works such as Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Stabat Mater by Giacomo Puccini, and the children’s opera Caperucita Encarnada by Julio Fonseca. This year, for the 17th edition of our Serenata de la Asunción, we will present the monumental Misa de Gloria by Puccini. Querido Arte has been much more than an artistic company to me—it has been a family, a space where I have grown both personally and professionally. I’ve found opportunities for artistic development and meaningful work. Thanks to the leadership of soprano María José Morales and tenor Mario Chang, I’ve had the honor of representing Guatemala on international stages in Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, and soon, the Dominican Republic. "My name is Juan Francisco Monroy. I’m 18 years old and was born and raised in Zone 6 of Chinautla, Guatemala. I’m currently in my final year of high school, studying Graphic Design at the Intercultural Institute of Santiago. Today, I want to share my experience with Querido Arte/Talento. Since I was little, music has been a fundamental part of my life. Even though I live with a hearing disability and use hearing aids, this has never stopped me from dreaming and fighting for what I love most: playing the violin. My musical journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been deeply rewarding. Every note I play, every rehearsal, and every concert is a way for me to prove that anything is possible with effort, discipline, and passion. Joining the Talento / Querido Arte Symphony Orchestra was a turning point in my life. When I got the call saying I had been accepted, I was filled with joy, motivation, and a deep desire to learn. From the very first rehearsal, I knew this was not only a space to grow as a musician, but also as a person. Thanks to Querido Arte/Talento, I’ve met wonderful teachers and peers who have taught me so much—like Maestro Mario, Maestro Norman, and Maestro Rafa. Through their guidance and the high artistic standards they expect of us, I’ve improved my violin technique, learned to work as part of a team, and lived unforgettable moments. ... I’ve also played alongside the Querido Arte/Talento Choir and many other performances and venues, sharing incredible experiences and learning from so many people—not just how to be a better violinist, but how to grow as a person. I’ve received advice, support, and inspiration to keep moving forward. Standing on a stage, hearing the applause, and feeling the vibration of the instruments around me… it’s indescribable. Being part of the Querido Arte/Talento orchestra has been one of the best experiences of my life. Not only have I grown as a musician, but I’ve been given opportunities that are paving the way for a future in music. It has given me confidence, discipline, lifelong friendships—and most of all, the chance to dream big. There’s still so much ahead! But thanks to this orchestra, I know I’m on the right path.
