Kairos: A Time for Hope, Actions That Transform Lives

We restore rights and create opportunities through institutional care, education, nutrition, and healthcare in the territories that need it most.

Our Mission

To contribute to the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents, especially the most vulnerable and excluded groups, with the participation and shared responsibility of the State, society, and the family. We aim to empower vulnerable populations to strengthen their capacities and create opportunities to improve their living conditions, working to eradicate the structural causes that produce vulnerability, such as ignorance, prejudice, and lack of solidarity.

Programs

For over two decades, we've maintained an uninterrupted presence in Guayaquil's most vulnerable communities, working to eradicate the root causes that prevent children, adolescents, and their families from fully accessing their fundamental rights. Our comprehensive action unfolds across four pillars: - Institutional care with specialized protection for 40 children and adolescents in our two Emmaus Houses. - Daily food security for children, adolescents, and adults in critical situations. - Quality education through our five own educational centers. - Comprehensive healthcare with general medicine and dentistry services. We firmly believe that transforming one life transforms an entire community, which is why we Educate for Life and provide job training. Every action we take is a concrete step towards a more just, equitable, and supportive society. Join our mission: together, we can continue to sow dignity, restore rights, and build a future where no child is left behind.

Our Impact

At Fundación Kairós, social impact isn't an abstract concept, but a verifiable reality reflected in restored rights and transformed lives within highly vulnerable communities. Our work is grounded in transparency and an unwavering commitment to human dignity, supported by consistent and measurable operations. The Food Sovereignty pillar is one of our most critical initiatives. In our Emaús Homes, we guarantee comprehensive nutrition for 40 children and adolescents, providing five daily services (breakfast, lunch, snacks, and refreshments) throughout the year, totaling 1,000 servings weekly. Simultaneously, our Community Kitchen delivers 750 weekly lunches to 250 at-risk adults and families. Collectively, we provide 1,750 food services each week, ensuring uninterrupted nutritional support. In Education, we safeguard the futures of 944 students. Through a scholarship system (176 full and 768 partial), we eliminate economic barriers, ensuring learning is a right, not a privilege. Furthermore, in Health, we bridge the access gap with up to 50 primary care consultations and 35 low-cost dental services each month. These figures represent the transition from institutional mission to concrete, on-the-ground action, building a thriving ecosystem of well-being that sustains and dignifies the community.
